Beets. You either love 'em or hate 'em, right? I never ate them growing up, so I wasn't particularly a fan, but I started eating them pickled a few years ago and fell in love. Now I eat them whenever I get a chance! I know they can be messy, but I think their benefits outweigh the mess.
You'll want to make this smoothie if you're looking to support detoxification of your liver while helping to offset damage from toxins in the body being released from the liver.

RECIPE: Raspberry Beet Smoothie

INGREDIENTS
Liquid:
1.5C walnut mylk (or other nut mylk)
splash of rose water (optional)
Fibre:
1T flax seeds
Carbs:
1 small beet, peeled & chopped
1 banana, fresh or frozen
1C raspberries, frozen
100g acai, frozen
Protein:
2T pumpkin or hemp seeds
Fats:
2T fish oil, flax oil or hemp oil
Superfoods:
2t maca root powder
1T goji berries
1T bee pollen, blended in or on top, split
INSTRUCTIONS
1. In the order listed above, place all ingredients into a high speed blender. Blend on high for 1 minute, or use the blender's smoothie setting.
2. Pour into two cups, drink immediately and enjoy!
