Homemade Applesauce

Staples make cooking from scratch so worthwhile. There’s just something satisfying about having the ability to whip up a fan favourite that can be used in a multitude of ways, all in just a few minutes!

RECIPE: Homemade Applesauce

SERVINGS: VARIABLE
TIME: 15 MINUTES
TASTE: SWEET & SMOOTH

Ingredients

4 apples, with skin (pick your fave)
1/2c water
1T lemon juice
optional: a few dashes of cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Chop apples into 1” cubes and place in a pot.

  2. Add water to the pot and bring to a light boil on medium, reducing heat to simmer for 10 minutes or until the apples are soft when poked with a fork.

  3. Drain water and let cool briefly before adding softened apples to a blender. Blend until smooth, then add lemon juice and blend for a quick second.

  4. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for 1-2 weeks. Eat by itself, use in baking, or add to snacks and meals.

NOTE: This recipe can be scaled to suit the amount you need. Adjust as required.
